Data Integrity and Walker in Year 2000 Cooperative Partnership

Fast, Simple System Helps New Users at Walker Analyze
350,000 Lines of Code in a Week for Delta Technology

Data Integrity, Inc. (dii), developer of breakthrough Year 2000 solutions, today announced a cooperative partnership with Walker, a leading provider of financial, operational and analytic applications, in which Walker uses Data Integrity's Millennium Solution™ find-and-fix Y2K solution in Year 2000 remediation projects.

Walker also reported positive initial results from Y2K project work carried out for Delta Technology, Inc., the wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.  According to Michael Goll, director of Y2K Solutions, EMU and IT consulting for Walker, four programmers, who were novice users of Millennium Solution, processed approximately 350,000 lines of computer code in a week.  Because of Millennium Solution's mathematical logic, Walker was able to identify the only module that needed to be modified for Year 2000 bugs.  This helped Walker avoid unnecessary Y2K changes and complete the project on time.  Walker plans to use Millennium Solution on future work with other Walker clients.

"We were amazed that using the Data Integrity tool, we came up with no changes other than the SQL -- it really scaled down the Y2K problem," Goll said.  "We would have spent considerably more time and talent analyzing the applications using our traditional scanning techniques and would have made many more changes to these modules.  This considerably shortened our testing cycle."

The Year 2000 challenge arises when computer systems calculate the date 2000 or beyond as "00" or "01." Since date fields in most applications are represented by only the last two digits, this creates errors for date-dependent systems, many of which are mission critical to a company's day-to-day business operations.  Millennium Solution is the only Year 2000 product that allows computer code to remain in the two-digit year environment.  The tool simply corrects the incorrect mathematical operations that occur after the millennial shift (see www.dii2000.com), thereby eliminating much of the complexity, time and cost required by previous-generation Y2K tools.  Data Integrity products are used extensively by NationsBank, Credit Suisse First Boston, the U.S. Department of the Interior and other major organizations.
